We bought these binoculars to leave in a rental for our guests. The problem with most binoculars, even the so-called rubber-clad ones, is that the first time they are dropped or knocked hard, they get misaligned – so when you look through them, you get two images that can’t be merged! In other words, they are useless.
This is the first set of binoculars which has survived a year of use – and with luck, will survive more years of use. We believe this is due to the very thick rubber cladding which protects them. They take getting used to – all focussing is at the eyepieces, there is no center wheel. That design feature may in fact contribute to their durability.
